Seminar on ““The History and Culture of Reading”.” Marks National Reading Day Celebration
As part of the National Reading Day Celebration, the Department of Languages, Literary Club, and the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) jointly organised a thought-provoking seminar on the topic ““The History and Culture of Reading”.” at the Mini Theatre.
St. Xavier's College Vaikom’s Language Departments, Literary Club and IQAC conducted a
Seminar on 20 June 2025 as part of Reading Week Celebration at the Mini Theatre of the
college. The presidential address was delivered by the Principal Dr. K. J. Abraham. Vice
Principal and Head of the Department of English, Sri. P. C. Ravisankar had welcomed the
gathering. The chief guest was Sri Vinod Krishna and the seminar was hosted by Sri Vinod
Krishna, the famous writer and filmmaker. The topic of the seminar was “The History and
Culture of Reading”. Students, teachers and non teaching staff participated. There were 58
participants who attended the seminar. The seminar was concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr.
Rekha A. G., Head of the Department of Malayalam. Mrs. Merine John from the Department of
English and Dr. Aparna U. Nair, Head of the Department of Hindi spoke on the occasion.
