DEPARTMENT OF CHEMISTRY
The Department of Chemistry was established on 2001 under the able leadership and guidance of Prof. Gracy Joseph. The department offers undergraduate programme, BSc Chemistry Model II with Industrial Chemistry as Vocational course. It is a six semester programme affiliated to Mahatma Gandhi University Kottayam. The highlight of this course is that students get an opportunity to do their project work at prestigious chemical industries and central research institutions. The department collaborates with major research institutions and signed MoU with them. The department has two UGC minor research projects in its credit. From its inception the department has striven to set high standards of teaching and learning. With the focus on enhancing the scientific tempers and to develop critical thinkers, the department conducts various programmes like invited talks, national seminars, international conferences, study tours and industry visit. The department organizes many inter-departmental and inter collegiate activities through chemistry associations.
