Food industry has been identified as the sunrise industry due to its enormous impact and significance in the Indian economy. With the development of processing industries, it is quite likely that the demand for the food technologists and scientists will increase in the coming decades. Recognizing the potential in this sector, the department Food science and Quality control was establishedin the year 2021, affiliated to MG University.
The curriculum is designed considering the requirements of the food industry and covers different areas of food processing industry including , fruits and vegetables processing industry, meat, fish and poultry industry, alcoholic beverages and soft drink industry, spices and condiments industry, flavour industry, confectionery, quality control, Food packaging industry, etc.And the internship program of 30 days every year during the course of 3 year offers a professional learning experience and exposure to the working environment. The department is committed to develop vibrantand competent studentsto work in the field of Food Technology.
